The picture above is the outcome of an ambitious project, Going underground executed by The Guardian’s Culture Vulture blog. The idea was to plot the branches and connections of 100 years of music on a London-Tube-style route map. (London-Tube or the London Underground is a rapid transit system in the UK. It is usually referred to officially as ‘the Underground’ and colloquially as the Tube).

Each line represents a different genre, with the influential musicians in it as the stops. An impressive feat of musicology and cultural history.

The Foldaway Massage Chair provides an invigorating leg and foot massage and folds to the size of a small stool.

The air cells along the sides of the foot wells inflate and deflate to deliver a kneading and compression massage that relieves sore, tight muscles in the calves and ankles. Finger-like nodes provide a deep-penetrating acupressure massage on the toes, arches, and soles of the feet. Flexi is a flat solar-powered paper based radio concept designed by Wu Kun-chia, Wang Shih-ju, Chen Ming-daw & Liou Chang.

Flexi radio can fit in a purse or even a wallet and it includes a speaker on one side and a solar cell on the other, both of which are light and flexible. It’s designed to be used within the station-waves range, but could be modified to receive internet radio via WiFi or WiMax. Really cool idea. [via]
